Independent Publisher

P+B Publications is an independent publisher, seeking the best new work by women and non-binary authors. In the spirit of Pen + Brush, we believe fervently that our publishing program exists to act as forceful means of dispelling the misconception that too few women produce consistently high-level literary fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

Artist Zine: DURING THE DAY BUT MOSTLY AT NIGHT

Pen + Brush is pleased to announce the publication of our first artist zine, created and designed entirely by artist Katelyn Kopenhaver. This zine features thirty enigmatic pages commentating on the consumption, perceptions, information, predators, violence in the world and Kopenhaver’s own personal experience of things. The artist explores a “post- truth” world and asks the question: “How do I contend with the post-truth climate we reside in?” The answer: “Through language, photographs, and journal entries, I invite the viewer to enter my mind, as I reflect/introspect on this question and unveil these concepts.”

P+B In Print No. 5

Pen + Brush’s In Print No. 5 with guest editor Novella Ford, is a clarion call for anyone who has experienced a shift in their persona, creative practice, principles, and/or actions. Inspired by “I Am,” the seventh episode of the HBO series, Lovecraft Country, created by Misha Green, this issue of In Print focuses on Hippolyta’s question: “How can I fit everything that I am now, into this place?”
