Art Day Extravaganza Sunday, December 11th, 2011, Noon - 8PM B.Y.O.A. and Reading Series Readings - Women Writers read and discuss their works. Various forms of literary arts were presented poetry, excerpts from prose and plays. Short Film Showcase & Behind The Scenes Exhibit
This short film showcase featured a behind the scenes look at how the films were made through an exhibition that will include drawing, paintings, costumes, props, and storyboards. The film screenings will be at 3pm + 6pm. From October 13th - 30th, 2011, The Pen and Brush, Inc. presented an international group exhibition that originated from the public voter's selections. This all media show consists of seventy-six works by fifty-six individual artists. iPad Art Show: Short Films
From October 13th - 30th, 2011, we held our first invitational iPad Art Show. The following four short films were featured: A.K.A.08494#### by Peilin Kuo 3 min "A.K.A.08494####", is a short film that examines identity through an amalgamation of numbers pertaining to a new immigrant's private life into American society, i.e. clothes, food, and sex, as well as how she is defined publicly, i.e. passport number, green card number and social security number. Amidst this seemingly mundane recitation, it defines a contemporary self-portrait. Children of God by Kiera Faber 4 min To Be There by Sharon Lenger 10 min The video “To Be There”, which consists of brief glances at windows of residential apartments in Tel-Aviv, reflects my permanent longing for a home, for some familiar place, in which I have never been. It Results from my wandering in the streets of Tel Aviv, in an attempt to sniff a bit of life and to try and grasp the warmth of a place where If I had been there, The Face Shop by Noella Borie 6 min “The Face Shop”, is a dark comedy for children about a faceless kid called Neil. Neil goes into a Face Shop with his friend “Manny” and tries on a bunch of artifacts. Despite the kindness of the shop keeper and his friend, nothing seems to work out for Neil. Will he find an appropriate face for himself? Find out in this creepy cartoon!
